Kevin Leep

About Kevin:

My yoga path has guided me to many different places and interesting people all over the world. My yoga journey began while completing my Exercise Science internship at Bronson Athletic Club. A few years later I was invited to try yoga at The Grand Rapids Downtown Market in the greenhouse. My yoga journey was no longer a bunch of poses, it was connecting to something more. After 6 months, I was eager to do a yoga teacher training. With some encouragement from my teacher, I decided to do Sadhana Yoga School's 28 day immersion in Bali, Indonesia. I've continued to deepen my personal practices by attending a 10 day Vipassana meditation.

When I’m not teaching or practicing yoga, I love to spend time with my wife, cooking, golfing, walking our two dogs, and traveling. I'm ready to see how you will be apart of my yoga journey

Tibetan Sound Healing

Friday April 21  6:30p-8p  | $33

Sound healing represents a ritual of acoustic sound concert in the form of a meditation designed to encourage self healing. With the created sounds and instruments acting as a medium, our inner chaos and conflict can be reconfigured into a harmonious sense of calm centeredness, resonating through every cell of our body and mind.

Experiencing sound healing can have many different effects on the mind and body. Students will notice varying emotions that rise to the surface, including bliss, anger, joy, sadness and contentment. Just as in the practice of yoga, students should be aware of these emotions and thoughts without judgement, allowing the ego to fall away and the vibrations to penetrate the layers of the body. Students may experience wandering or clear thoughts, deep rest and relaxation, or possibly even sleep. Students will experience the sound of tibetan singing bowls, tingshas, and a 38" Paiste Earth Gong.

During a sound bath, students typically lay comfortably on the floor in savasana, but a favorite meditation seat or gentle yoga poses are welcomed. Students are encouraged to:

• wear comfortable clothing
• bring yoga props (bolsters, blankets) for support
• not eat a heavy meal 2 hours beforehand
• be well hydrated
