Chants for Peace
11:00am-12:30pm
Join us for a deeply grounding spiritual morning as Chants for Peace invite you to chant with them to live music. Open your heart to peace in yourself and for the world through song. This is a free community event.
Geoff will be on the guitar, Jeff on the tablas, Susanne on the harmonium, Don is in charge of high end percussion, and Megan will share her beautiful voice and her shruti box.
This week we will be introducing new mantras and chants all surrounding the theme of love and peace. Right now, chanting for peace is particularly needed in a world of perceived and real division. This practice of chanting aims to build intuition, mental stamina, self-awareness, and spiritual depth. Kirtan is practiced by many yogic communities across the world, and partaking in this tradition as a group develops group consciousness and amplifies the impact of the meditation itself.
No previous experience needed—just come willing to chant with the group. Mantra sheets are provided. Bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion, and water or tea.

About the Chants for Peace band:
This group of musicians naturally found each other with a mutual love of music as a spiritual way of being. Beginning almost 8 years ago, this band has taken many forms with many different people. With its current members, they've been meeting to chant for peace since the summer of 2020.
Geoff will be on the guitar, Jeff on the tablas, Susanne on the harmonium, Don is in charge of the percussion high end, and Megan will guide us while sharing her beautiful voice.
We invite any and all who want to explore their heart and clear their mind to join us in chant and song.
