Summer Solstice Celebration

Harness the energy of the Sun and celebrate the Summer Solstice.
The Summer Solstice is the official first day of summer and the time when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, making this the longest day (light) of the year.
On this day, we celebrate the nourishing light of the sun as well as bring awareness to the light that beams inside each of us.
By celebrating the Summer Solstice, you are awakening your spirit to absorb and find gratitude in the abundant energy of the sun. You also awaken the awareness within you, and your ability to harness the same power, build light within you, and shine your gifts out into the world.
By practicing Sun Salutations, you will salute the sun with gratitude, challenge your mental & physical body to awaken your power, and connect inward with your breath to energize and release this energy into the world.
This practice is both challenging and meditative and will show you that you are as powerful as the sun!

What to expect:
• 10-15 minutes of centering & gently warming your body in preparation
• 108 repetitions of Sun A divided into 9 rounds of 12 led by Alissa, Chloe, Sasha, & Shannon (appx 60 mins)
• Each round will connect with a chakra center or intention to help offer focus.
• Short, intentional pauses & centering between each round. You are welcome to go at your pace, stopping as needed.
• You DO NOT have to complete all 108. Spending rounds in child's pose or seated meditation, or simply moving your body freely IS part of your practice. We will offer ample opportunity to honor your body and this solar new year so is best for you.
• Post Sun Salutation Stretch & Recovery (10 minutes) + Summer Solstice Meditation & Savasana (15 minutes) accompanied by Sound immersion led by Megan Smits.
• Time In Community to breathe, move, laugh, & celebrate
***Yoga Mats, Blocks, & Blankets will be provided. You may bring your own for your own comfort. ***
About Shannon:
Shannon Sadoski is a certified natural food chef, yoga & movement specialist, holistic lifestyle coach, and founder of Live Unprocessed.
She helps people seeking wellness to function at their highest level of health through high quality food, functional movement, and deep mindfulness.

About Alissa:
Alissa Marie Newberg is a 200hr RYT yoga teacher with additional Yoga Alliance certification in Prenatal Yoga through Blooma International. She has trained as a DONA certified doula with Patti Brennan of The Center for the Childbearing Year and recently studied with Tammy Ryan of Spinning Babies learning pregnancy and birth positioning techniques.
